I shot the "London Lockdown" reportage at the beginning of the second national UK lockdown in November 2020. I decided to shoot in black and white because the absence of colours reflects the lack of the usual liveliness that makes London one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In some photos, I added a touch of red which is a warm colour that represents the hope for life's rebound.

I wanted the Virtual Exhibition to reflect the mixed feelings that many of us share in this historical moment, which can be forgotten even if for a moment, by appreciating the uncanny yet magnificent beauty of a deserted London. I am humbled by the feedback for this reportage and by the feature in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

Thank you for visiting the exhibition, stay safe.
